About
Lilith currently lives and works in Beirut, after having found transient and ambulatory homes in France, England, Egypt and China.

She was born on an island and has never lost her love for the sea, but she does not believe that identity can be restricted to one word, whether a nationality, a gender or a religion. That is why she seeks to creatively explore these things, through melodies and musings, in order to uncover both the tense fragments and multiple possibilities within them.
Sometimes she struggles, and wonders how so many disparate pieces can ever make a meaningful whole. However, she does not despair too much, and focuses on the small things, like orchids, snails and moonshine. While she places much importance in contemplation and self-reflexive challenge, she also puts her faith in the belief that some great puzzles are best left to their own devices.

Hi- I read in one of your articles that you volunteer in Shatila. Could you give me any suggestions for places I might volunteer while I’m in Beirut for the summer? Thanks! -Sarah

Hi Sarah,
Sorry for taking a while to get back to you. Unfortunately, the after-school programmes in Shatila that I had been involved with have now ended with the school year, but thereare other summer programmes available. It depends what you’re interested in: teaching, children’s activities, women’s issues. I know that there is definately a possibility to teach English to adults in the evenings if that interests you/if you have experience. Otherwise, email me at lilithhope@live.com and i’ll send you some more info.
Cheers.
